- F1.6 Are the foods from approved sources and has the operator taken steps to ensure that the food is safe for consumption?
  - Observation(s): Dented can found on retail floor. Corrective Action: Ensure all dented or damaged cans are not shelved. If damaged by a customer, ensure they are removed from the retail floor as soon as possible. If dented or damaged cans are brought to the till, ensure they are exchanged for intact cans. Expired baby food found on retail floor. Corrective Action: Ensure daily audits of expiry dates are conducted. Removed any item which has expired. Multiple cracked eggs found on retail floor. Corrective Action: Remove damaged or contaminated food from the floor. Ensure eggs are checked at the till for cracks.
- F2.5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?
  - Observation(s): Observed a large amount of water pooling on right-side of produce walk-in floor. Operator informed water from melting ice from veggies or washed lettuces draining. Uneven floor, so pooling close to doorway. Corrective Action: As discussed, move melting/draining products to higher floor point in walk-in. If continuous issue, obtain thick rubber floormats which allow for draining to mitigate slipping hazard. Ensure all lightbulbs over food storage, food preparation, and areas of receiving are shatterproof or have shatterproof covers. Observed condensation on coolers of frozen prepared meats/appetizer coolers. Operator informed that back right corner of store is high in humidity which results in the condensation. Cleaned periodically throughout operating hours. Temperature of coolers maintained and fill lines posted so coolers not over filled.
