- Rusted nail clipper was observed stored in one of the manicure workstation drawers. The surface can no longer be properly cleaned and disinfected; therefore, discarded. The operator was instructed to visually inspect all tools for cleanliness before use.

- Using the PRE-empt CS20 solution for more than one day without testing the disinfectant with test paper and without maintaining the High-Level Disinfection (HLD) logs is not acceptable.Please purchase AHP 7% test papers as per the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure that HLD logs are maintained.Proper instructions for completing the HLD sheets have been provided to the operator.

- 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
- There was a used sandpaper band/drill bit band at the manicure station.Please ensure all sandpaper/drill bit bands are thrown away after each use on each customer. Do not reuse. The metal drill bit must then be cleaned with soap and water, rinsed, dried, and disinfected.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- The facility is using Preempt Concentrate to disinfect manicure and pedicure tools.Preempt Concentrate is an intermediate level disinfectant and cannot be used on manicure and pedicure tools. Please replace with a high level disinfectant that has a DIN number and a high level disinfectant claim.
- 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
- The facility is using alcohol to disinfect general surfaces (chairs, tables, counters, trolleys).Alcohol is not a proper disinfectant. Please use a low level disinfectant that as a DIN number and a disinfectant claim such as Lysol wipes, Clorox wipes, Preempt RTU, or another type of disinfectant.
