      • -Evidence of single use tools being reused observed during inspection (disposable plastic spoolies were stored inside the Barbicide solution).Action required: Single-use equipment was not being discarded after each use. Equipment must be discarded after use on one client if the manufacturer labels it as: single-use, not for reuse, do not reuse, disposable, discard after single-use, or do not use twice.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The lash lift glue sticks/tools had dried up glue. Upon questioning, staff member stated that those tools are cleaned with isopropyl alcohol solution. Action required:Clean and then disinfect the tools that come in contact with eye area (water line) after each client service with the high-level disinfectant (CS20) and follow manufacturer instruction for the use of disinfectant.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. One of the Barbicide solutions contained combs that were not fully submerged. Please ensure all tools are completely submerged in Barbicide. Correction made onsite.2. Metal foot scrubber (grater style) was being disinfected with low level disinfectant. Instructions provided to disinfect this tool with the high-level disinfectant (CS20), ensure that the tool is properly submerged inside the disinfectant pour and follow the manufacturer instructions.
    • 24. Are waste sharps disposed of properly?
      • Sharp container in one of the rooms was overfilled. Please do not fill the container over the fill line and appropriately dispose the containers.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. There are expired bottles of disinfectant (Preempt RTU) found in the pedicure/manicure room. There was also an expired bottle of Preemt CS20 in the laser room. 2. A bleach water solution is being used to disinfect the pedicure basins. 1. Please ensure all disinfectants are up to date. Replace immediately. Preempt RTU can be used on pedicure basins and all general surfaces. Preempt CS20 must be used on all reusable metal tools used in eyelash extensions and nails. 2. Bleach is not a proper disinfectant and does not have a DIN number. Replace the bleach with a low level or intermediate level disinfectant (such as Preempt RTU) immediately.
