      • Children's beddings were placed too close together, with touching, and teachers did not set up the bedding properly as there was insufficient separation between them.Please ensure that children's bedding remains properly spaced and separated at all times.

    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • - The handwashing procedure following diaper changes was not properly followed or managed. Children's and staff members' hands were not washed immediately after diaper changes. It was also observed that staff used gloves to change the diapers of multiple children without performing hand hygiene between changes and touched other surfaces with the same gloves. This infraction was noted in the infant room.Action Required:*Review the diaper handwashing procedure with all staff members.**Ensure that children's hands are properly washed immediately after diaper changes and that they are either escorted out of the washroom or handed over to another staff member.Staff must change gloves and properly wash their hands after cleaning the diapering surface and area.       • *The tables and wooden chairs (Bambini and Casa rooms) require painting or refinishing, as their surfaces are rough, absorbent, and difficult to clean.Action Required:*Repaint or refinish the wood to ensure that all surfaces are smooth, non-absorbent, and easy to clean.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The bleach concentration was tested at 1000 ppm of chlorine in the Infant and Bambini classrooms. Staff was not rinsing surfaces after using the 1000 ppm solution.*The violation was corrected on-site, and staff re-prepared the solution.*Action Required:The two-step cleaning method should be used for disinfecting surfaces in the facility when using bleach sanitizer.     • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The bleach sanitizer in the Casa/Montessori classroom was tested at 50 ppm of chlorine.*Staff corrected the violation on-site.Action Required:*For proper surface disinfecting, ensure the bleach concentration is between 100-200 ppm of chlorine.*Allow the surface to air dry if using a 100 ppm solution. If using 1000 ppm, wait at least 2 minutes before wiping the surface with a damp paper towel.

    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • 1. Children's beddings were stored in an unsatisfactory manner in the Junior Bambini and Bambini rooms. The beddings were coming out of the bag and were stored in a cabinet underneath the sink. Please ensure the beddings are properly placed in the bag and not exposed outside/ touching each other's. 2. Diapering mat was stored on top of a divider wall in the Intermediate Casa room. The children could easily pull the diaper mat belt. Please relocate the diapering mat.

      • 1. One of the covered shelves in the Junior Bambini room is easily moveable. Please ensure the wheels locks are on so that the shelves are not easily moveable.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • 1. Children's beddings were stored in an unsatisfactory manner in the Junior Bambini and Bambini rooms. The beddings were coming out of the bag and were stored in a cabinet underneath the sink. Please ensure the beddings are properly placed in the bag and not exposed outside/ touching each other's. 2. Diapering mat was stored on top of a divider wall in the Intermediate Casa room. The children could easily pull the diaper mat belt. Please relocate the diapering mat.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • 1. The foot pedal of the garbage bin in the Intermediate Casa room is not working. Please repair/replace. 2. Wet cleaning cloths were observed to be reused/stored in the countertop in the Intermediate Casa and Bambini rooms. Please ensure the cloth is used only one time and washed after use.
