      • The metal nail clippers and cuticle clippers in the UV sterilizer were not being cleaned properly.- Clippers must be cleaned with soap and water first, rinsed, dried, then fully soaked in a high level disinfectant.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The pedicure basins are not being disinfected properly with a low or intermediate level disinfectant. The pedicure basins are being cleaned and then disinfected with an 70% alcohol mixture. - Please ensure that after each customer, the pedicure basin and jet covers are cleaned with soap and water, rinsed, then sprayed with a low or intermediate level disinfectant that has a DIN number.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. High-level disinfectant bottle was not available onsite at the time of inspection. Container of CS20 was available in reprocessing area.- Please acquire a new bottle of CS20.2. Test strips were not available for checking the concentration of high-level disinfectant CS20.- Please acquire test strips.

      • 1. The CS20 disinfectant expired in 2015 and was discarded at the time of inspection.2. The Preempt Concentration Solution is expired as of July 2024.3. The current disinfectant container is too small to fully submerge the foot paddles.To ensure proper infection control procedures, please take the following actions:- Obtain a high-level disinfectant suitable for reusable nail instruments.- Acquire an appropriate cleaner/disinfectant for work surfaces and pedicure basins.- Provide a larger container that allows for complete submersion of foot paddles during disinfection.- If the high level disinfectant can be and will be reused within the recommended time period, obtain test strips to verify the concentration of the high-level disinfectant, and ensure results are recorded daily.
