    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Written procedures were completed during the inspection. Written procedures for cleansing skin were completed for the following services: -manicure -pedicure -waxing -eyelash tint -facials extractions using comedone loop / sterile lancets-microneedling-PMUWritten procedures for antiseptic application & post-service care were completed for the following services: -facials extractions using comedone loop / sterile lancets-microneedling-PMUWritten procedure for accidental skin cuts or punctures was provided to the operator at the time of inspection.Written procedure for handwashing and equipment reprocessing sink decontamination was completed at the time of inspection.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • No labelling was available for the alcohol-based hand rub found on-site. Operator agreed not to use. Alcohol based hand rub (ABHR) can be used if hands are visibly clean. The alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) must have an alcohol content between 60 to 90%, have an NPN or DIN issued by Health Canada and not be expired.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • The augenblick & refectocil cream hair dyes are not permitted for tinting eyelashes and/or eyebrows as per labelling instructions. Operator removed products from client service area.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • Reuseable semi-critical equipment was being reprocessed using the kitchen sink which is not permitted. Discussed reprocessing sink requirements. Install a permanently plumbed sink with a shelf/table next to the sink to adequately accommodate the placement of contaminated reusable equipment. This sink can only be used for cleaning equipment and/or staff hand washing purposes. It cannot be used for food preparation or other incompatible undertakings and cannot be located in a room with a toilet.Until a proper reprocessing sink is available, reuseable semi-critical tools (i.e. comedone loop, nail clippers, cuticle pusher etc.) are not permitted to be used for manicure/pedicure/facials services.
    • 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
      • A proper reprocessing sink for semi-critical equipment is required.
