    • 06. Are appropriate food handling practices and plans in place to ensure that food is handled in a manner that makes it safe to eat?
      • Some food items were kept in an ice bath, however the level of the ice was too low to adequately cool the food (ice only had contact with the bottom of the container). Containers must be fully immersed in the ice bath to prevent the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Operator rearranged the containers in the ice bath as such, and was also advised that the ice would need replenishing periodically.

      • There was no hot water available in the mobile unit.

    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • The AHS mobile decal (CNT-841) is not affixed to the exterior of the mobile unit.- Please affix your AHS mobile decal on the exterior of the mobile unit.- If you are unable to locate your AHS mobile decal, please contact our admin at: 1-833-476-4743Decal Guidelines:- The decal should be placed in an area that is plainly visible to customers during normal operation/service- Ideally, the decal should be placed so that it is also visible when the vehicle is “closed up” ie. In transit or not yet open for operation- The decal must be attached directly to the vehicle itself (as opposed to a removable item on/in the vehicle)- Be aware of heat producing equipment (BBQ, water heaters, etc) that may make an area hot. Do not place decals onto hot areas.e. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before attaching decal.- After attaching the decal, a clear “anti-vandal” protective cover should be applied over top to protect it.

    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • QUAT sanitizer was measured at 300 ppm.- Directed staff to dilute to 200 ppm.- Moving forward, please ensure QUAT sanitizer is at 200 ppm. Use your QUAT test strips to test/monitor the concentration.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Mobile uses both chlorine and QUAT as sanitizers. However, there were no test strips available.- Staff member picked up QUAT and chlorine test strips during the inspection.- Moving forward, please have sanitizer test strips available in the mobile at all times for testing/monitoring sanitizer concentrations.
    • 14. Does the mobile food vendor have an adequate supply of potable hot and cold running water and is the water sampled at required intervals?
      • The hot water heater is producing lukewarm water and takes a long time to heat water.- Please troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace your water heater to ensure that potable hot water at a suitable pressure is available at all times.- Note: Water supplied to the hand washing sink must be at a temperature between 30°C and 45°C.

      • One of the doors for storage is repaired using duct tape.- Please ensure this storage door is properly repaired.- Duct tape is not suitable as it cannot be cleaned/sanitized.
