Inspection summary

Pizza Hut has been inspected 4 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since January 5, 2024. The most recent inspection, on August 19, 2026, recorded 5 infractions.

3 of 4 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 5 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct food-handling risks.

Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.

Recorded 2 times on August 19, 2026. For example: Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?

  • Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk

Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.

Recorded 2 times on August 19, 2026. For example: Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on August 19, 2026. For example: Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • A scoop used in the pizza preparation cooler was left on open food (shredded cheese).Ensure that scoops are not stored on top of open food, and that they are stored properly in a designated area (such as the container/area where the other similar scoops were stored).
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Hand-washing sinks were overall well-supplied and accessible, but the soap re-fill was not properly replaced within its dispenser. Replace the liquid soap re-fill properly into the dispenser.
    • 18. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Both the PHI trainee and PHI noticed the smell of sewer gases coming from the bathroom, though there was no obvious source (such as a floor drain).Make sure to flush water and/or sanitizer down the toilet and sink to wet p-traps, or else contact a plumber to inspect and repair the bathroom plumbing to ensure that sewer gases are not continually causing a nuisance for the facility.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • A leak was observed coming from one of the faucet taps of the three-compartment dishwashing sink, with tape covering this damaged tap.Ensure that the sink plumbing is fixed correctly and kept continuously in good repair. Make sure to remove the tape as well, as it is not easily cleanable.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • A few areas were observed to require increased cleaning and sanitization, including:- The fan covers in the walk-in cooler (dust accumulation was noticed).- Shelving in the walk-in cooler (especially the under-side).- Kitchen steel containers/pans used to hold clean utensils.Make sure to clean these areas thoroughly, and to clean them on a routine basis moving forward.
