    • F2.7 Are there handwashing stations available and properly supplied?
      • Observation(s): • There is no warm/hot water at the back hand wash sink (next to dish washer). On inspection, it appears that the hot water supply is connected together with the cold water supply through a tempering valve; this valve needs to be adjusted so that a minimum warm water temperature of 38° C is maintained for proper hand washing. Correct by November 3, 2020.

    • F3.4 - Are the premises, equipment and utensils designed and maintained to ensure safe and sanitary food handling?
      • Observation(s): a) At the time of this inspection flats of frozen perishable foods and higher risk foods were left out in the back stock area due to the lack of cooler/freezer space; this has been observed during the last two inspections. Management reports that staff are constantly rotating foods through various coolers to try to minimize the time that foods are left out of cold storage; using "minimal time at room temperature" is not an accepted means of storage for foods requiring storage below 4 C (40 F). The existing coolers/freezers are not meeting the needs of this facility. Additional cooler/freezer space must be provided for this facility so that all perishable/potentially hazardous foods can be properly stored. Starbucks must review the layout of the current stock area in Store # 4691. It is recommended that the coffee cup storage be relocated to provide space for an additional cooler. Advise Interior Health what steps will be taken to ensure the proper storage of foods (Interior Health 250-851-7439).
      • F3.4J - Refrigeration equipment must be of the type or capacity to meet the needs of the premises.

      • Observation(s): a) The menu board did not display an Informed Dining Logo, no logo was noticed elsewhere.
      • 1.1 - The Informed Dining Mark (logo) should be displayed on the menu or (around or close to) menu board (e.g. dangler, cash register).
    • Are the premises, equipment and utensils designed and maintained to ensure safe and sanitary food handling?
      • Observation(s): a) At the time of this inspection flats of frozen perishable foods (containing meats etc.) were left out in the back stock area due to the lack of cooler/freezer space; management reported that there was currently no additional refrigerated space for the product. Additional cooler/freezer space must be provided for this facility so that all all perisahable/potentially hazardous foods can be properly stored. Please advise Interior Health by November 30, 2016 what steps will be taken to ensure the proper storage of foods (Interior Health 250-851-7439).
