      • No paper towels were available in the automatic dispenser at the start of the inspection; however, staff restocked it during the inspection.

      • During the inspection, it was noted that the scoops were left in the flour containers, with the handles in contact with the flour. PHI advised the staff to remove the scoop from the container to a scoop holder. Please ensure that scoops are stored seperately to prevent any cross contamination.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Pest control records were not available on site. Please ensure to provide pest control records to the PHI.

      • Food Handling Permit was not displayed at the facility.Please ensure that the food handling permit is visible to the public at all times.

      • 1. The kitchen exhaust/ventilation system cleaning record was not visible during inspection. Please provide the date of the last professional cleanup to the PHI.2. The chest freezers in the store had ice buildup. Please ensure to clean the ice buildup and inform the PHI once done.

      • Food items (bags of flour) were observed stored on the floor in the pantry.Ensure that all food items must be stored at least six inches above the floor. Please do not store food on the floor.

      • Pest control records were not available during inspection. Please ensure pest control records are kept and made available for PHI review.

      • No food permit on display at the facility.Ensure the food permit is conspicuously displayed to be seen by the clients.

      • 1. The kitchen exhaust/ventilation system was overdue for cleaning. Due date on the canopy was dated Dec 2023 on the cleaning sticker. Please ensure the exhaust system/hood especially between the filters is cleaned professionally.2. The freezer near the entrance door was observed not clean.Ensure to clean the food debris in this freezer unit.

    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • No pest control monitoring system observed during the inspection. The inspector informed the staff that a pest control monitoring system must be implemented by either (1) Contracting a professional pest control company to conduct and complete a pest control monitoring inspection every month; or (2) Completing the AHS Pest Control Monitoring Checklist every month that was provided during the inspection. In the event the owner/operator chooses to do it themselves, a copy of the Pest Control Monitoring Checklist will be sent with this report.Ensure to complete and avail the checklist for PHI review during inspection.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • The light above the food prep area was not covered or protected from breakage or shatterproof. Ensure the light shield/ cover is replaced or replace with LED lighting.

      • There was no cleaning schedule and written sanitation procedure available on-site. PHI informed the operator that a cleaning schedule must be implemented. A sample cleaning schedule template will be sent with the inspection report.Ensure to implement a cleaning schedule and written sanitation procedure in the facility.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Additional cleaning is required in high-touch areas such as fridge handles.- Ensure high-touch areas are being routinely cleaned.
    • 24. Is solid and liquid waste being managed in a suitable manner?
      • No covers are observed for the garbage cans. Ensure that covers are acquired for the garbage cans to help prevent pest activity.
