      • Observation: No hot water available during inspection, tank is still having issues. Pilot light has been going out around once per day for about a week, today they were not able to turn it on at all today. Spoke with District Manager on the phone who stated that they have a company that will be in later today to investigate and address what they believe to be the underlying issue with the hot water tank (draft possibly blowing out the pilot light).
      • Corrective Action(s): Jugs with spigot and warm water set up next to each hand wash station to allow staff to wash their hands with warm water until tank is repaired tonight. Dishwasher still operational as it has its own dedicated hot water tank. Continue to replenish jugs with warm water for today and provide update tomorrow morning to EHO regarding the status of the repair.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No hot water available at start of inspection. Staff stated that the hot water tank was not working but have called a company to come in to take a look at it.
      • Corrective Action(s): Hot water must be present at all times for safe operation of restaurant. Hot water is required for proper hand washing and dishwashing. Staff were able to turn hot water tank back on again during inspection by following the instructions on the side of the tank. This is a repeat infraction. Restaurant must not operate in the event that there is no hot water. Further infractions of this nature may result in increased enforcement action including (but not limited to) closure and or tickets.

      • Observation: Light level in secondary sandwich assembly station was 40 foot-candles, food prep areas must be 200 foot-candles at least. Light fixtures in the area appeared to be able to accommodate 3 working bulbs but the 2 nearest the food prep station had only 1 and 2 bulbs respectively.
      • Corrective Action(s): Replace/reinstate working bulbs in all three slots in each of the work stations. Due: Jan 19, 2023

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No hot water available at time of inspection. Manager stated that the hot water tank broke in the morning and they have not been able to get it up and running yet.
      • Corrective Action(s): Hot water is critical to being able to conduct safe food practices including proper hand hygiene and dish washing. Close restaurant effective immediately, reinstate hot water and call for a reinspection once complete.
      • Note: Repair person came on site after verbal order to close was given and reinstated the hot water.

      • Observation: Hot water tap at back two compartment sink was turned off at the back. No water was flowing through this tap. When turned back on, faucet was unable to stop flow of water.
      • Corrective Action(s): Repair tap so that hot water can be turned on and off at tap. Due: Oct 14, 2022

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
      • There is accumulated water and coffee grinds on the shelf/cupboard below the hand sink in the drive-thru arear. These conditions will attract and breed flies or other pests.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Clean and sanitize the area to remove the water and coffee grinds. Ensure this is being done on a regular basis. During the inspection, staff cleaned and sanitized the area.

      • Observation:
      • The upright salad cooler (beside the ice machine) door gasket doesn't tightly seal. Cold air is constantly leaking out which means the compessor is working all the time.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Replace the door gasket with new one, so it creates a tight seal and keeps the cold air in.

      • Observation:
      • The exhaust hood systems had stickers on them, from a professional cleaning company, indicating that the next cleaning was due in July 2017. The accumulation of grease inside the exhaust ducts/vents will attract pests and is a fire hazard.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Immediately contact a professional exhaust cleaning company to clean all the exhaust hood systems in the facility. Ensure to have a contract with the company so they return on a regular basis.
      • **Correction date: Nov. 1/17**

      • Observation:
      • Plastic food containers and lids were found to be cracked or chipped. Damaged food containers are not cleanable (bacteria hides in the cracks) and pieces of chipped plastic could fall into food.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Throw away any damaged food containers, lids, equipment, and utensils. Purchase new ones so they are cleanable and in good working order.
