    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Mice droppings was observed in the dry storage area of the facility, including poison baits. Please remove the poison bait as they are not permitted within the kitchen. Please ensure staff take extra precautions when cleaning mice droppings. PHI will send a fact sheet about Hantavirus.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Repeat ViolationPlease remove or repair all broken equipment within the facility, please remove all food equipment out of staff kitchen washroom. Broken Equipment observed, small prep cooler, mechanical dishwasher not achieving at least 71 degrees C on the dish level (must sanitize dishes in three compartment sink), broken oven, broken walk-in-freezer

      • Old food and grease debris was observed throughout the facility, underneath, in-between and on top of equipment and hard to reach areas such as corners or under counters of the faculty. A room was observed to have a pile of unused broken-down boxes, please clean or remove boxes as this can harbor pest. Please deep clean the kitchen prior to the kitchen being vacant for the summer as there is a significant food source for pest.
