      • Noticeable gaps were observed beneath the warehouse exit doors, including the first back exit door beside the tire storage area and the last exit door beside the overhead door. The right side of the door sweep was dented on the first door was dented, and gaps were also present around the door frames of both doors. A visible dent was observed on the lower panels of the white overhead delivery door in the warehouse.Repair damaged door frames and panels of the overhead door. Seal all gaps around doors and frames and install proper weather stripping at all doors to prevent pest intrusion.

      • Construction materials including pipes and wall panels were stored behind the potato storage rack in the warehouse area.Remove unused materials from the premises and store non-food equipment away from food storage areas.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Shelving used for bread and dry food display in the Second Chance shelves was made of untreated wood, which is porous, uncleanable, and unsuitable for food storage. Untreated wooden pallets in the walk-in cooler also showed visible mold growth, creating a cross-contamination risk.Seal all wooden shelving and pallets with a food-grade, non-toxic finish, or replace them with stainless steel or food-grade plastic shelving that is smooth, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable.

      • A gap was observed on the wall behind the potato storage racks in the warehouse, which may allow pest entry.Seal all gaps to prevent pest intrusion.

      • Cardboard was used as surfacing on the potato storage shelving units in the warehouse.Remove the cardboard from shelving. Food storage surfaces must be smooth, non-porous, and easily cleanable.
