From the moment our family joined Aberdeen Hall we knew we had found something truly special. The teachers and staff genuinely treat student like family and care deeply about who each child is, not just how they perform academically. The arts and athletics offerings are excellent and are often run by some of my kids’ favourite teachers. The music program will blow your mind even if your family isn’t musically inclined! There is a constant focus on helping students become their best selves both academically and personally, while also nurturing kindness, empathy and a sense of responsibility within the wider community in the Okanagan Valley. The school leadership team, teachers and parents constantly create experiences and traditions that truly become core memories for our kids. We currently have one child in middle school and another in senior school, both of whom have been part of this community since the early years (preschool and Grade 2). Watching them grow through every stage of childhood and adolescence within the same supportive environment has been fundamental and reassuring. I can’t emphasize this enough. The leadership team is outstanding. They are highly engaging, approachable and genuinely responsive. At every stage, both my kids said they spent time and got to know their principles who come in the classrooms on a regular basis to teach an odd class, tell jokes or visit. The best part is the leadership team work HARD to partner with parents, understand the natural challenges that come with each age and stage, and consistently support students growth with care and intention. The AH parent community is equally special. They are tight knit, supportive and always welcoming to new families. We come from all over the valley and from different walks of life yet the common thread is our shared dedication to our kids, which makes it incredibly easy to form instant friendships. Aberdeen Hall has helped shape not just our children’s education but, who they are becoming. For that we will always be grateful. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of a school that truly lives its values every single day.

Our family made the difficult but necessary decision to remove our son from Aberdeen Hall after the school repeatedly failed to protect him. I feel its time to tell our sons story. Our son was subjected to ongoing bullying that included homophobic slurs, rage-baiting, name-calling, and coordinated targeting by multiple students. This behavior was not isolated. It was persistent, escalated over time, and was openly happening within his class environment. Eventually, his entire class turned against him, and it became socially acceptable to continue picking on our child. We raised these concerns through multiple meetings. Despite being fully aware of what was happening, the school took no meaningful action to stop it. There were no effective interventions, no accountability for the students involved, and no real effort made to ensure our son felt safe. Instead, the bullying was ignored, minimized, and allowed to continue. The most significant failure was at the leadership level. The Head of School never attended a single meeting, never contacted our family directly, and never followed up. For an expensive private school that promotes strong values and student well-being, this absence of leadership and responsibility was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. We ultimately withdrew our son because he was not safe. This situation is especially alarming given the very real consequences of bullying. When schools ignore repeated warnings and fail to act, children are left feeling isolated, powerless, and ALONE! This is trauma.. This has to be addressed before another child is seriously harmed. Silence and inaction are not neutral choices. They cause damage.

Our children have been attending Aberdeen for a couple years and the academic improvement and social cohesion within the school is top notch. Positively impacting a child’s trajectory early is very important, and the Aberdeen teachers and staff have truly been top notch, communicative and supportive.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Mrs. Church !What truly sets her apart is her genuine, individualized care for each student's progress. She doesn't just teach the curriculum; she teaches the children. when my child, Lucas , was struggling with studying.Mrs. Church set up a meeting with us ,Send helpful resources, provided extra encouragement,This made all the difference. My child moved from feeling frustrated to feeling capable and seen. She has fostered a true love of learning in our household, and we are so grateful for her dedication.

Aberdeen hall is more than just a school. It is a community dedicated to the growth of its students. We feel confident knowing our child is receiving a high-quality education in a place where they feel valued and inspired to learn.

I rate Aberdeen Hall a whopping 5 stars, because the community and environment is encouraging, kind, and supportive. I am a current and new student, and I have been welcomed into the community and treated with respect. The teachers are engaging and supportive, and will do their best to make sure every student has complete understanding. The facility is well designed, has a great view at lunch, and is overlooking rolling hills and sometimes even hot air balloons! Any event that is put on either during school or after school has great management, is well put together, and overall super fun. The sports teams are great, and they go on trips to games every so often. I find the P.E. class to be better than any other physical education I have attended, and has many different units on a ton of sports. The electives that I have been to are a very good use of time, and makes your day even more fun and exciting! The clubs at Aberdeen are also super cool, and every one that I have attended so far is awesome! There is a homeroom class in the morning and at the end of the day, so you get to connect with your Advisory teacher and get organized for during school and after school. Overall, Aberdeen Hall is an amazing school that suites my needs, and I already feel like a part of the super supportive community.

We love Aberdeen Hall. I'm motivated to write because I notice some comments on here that are really contrary to our experience so I want to provide an alternate point of view. My child has been here for 3 years now and the academic and social experience has been exceptional. The teachers and staff are really great at their jobs, we have continually been impressed. The music, French, and athletics programming are advanced compared to other schools in Kelowna. My child learned violin this year and loves it! And the after school care program is a necessity for working families. There have been comments about the poor school leadership or favoritism to families who donate. We have never donated to the school, we are a couple who works full time and don't provide additional funds to the school and have not experienced any sort of issues related to that. There is not a culture of families who donate get special treatment, I would be hard pressed to tell you who donates anything to the school. The Junior School has exceptional leadership and I feel that even the leadership knows my child really well and is an advocate for wellbeing.

Both our daughters have attended Aberdeen Hall (one graduated last year and one is enrolled in Gr 11) we love the sense of community, amazing teachers and student support along with the smaller class sizes. The guidance for post secondary education is excellent. We are fortunate to have a school like Aberdeen Hall in our community.
