      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Handsink near the front prep. tables was blocked. Liquid soap was available, however it was close to running out.
      • Corrective Action(s): Staff member removed the cardboard boxes to enable access to the handsink for handwashing purposes. Staff member restocked liquid soap at this handsink. Ensure handsinks remain accessible for handwashing and are kept properly supplied to facilitate proper handwashing practices.

      • Observation: Water was observed to be leaking from a pipe near the dishwasher.
      • Corrective Action(s): Staff placed a container below the dishwasher as an interim measure to contain the leaking water. Ensure the necessary repairs are made to the pipe/plumbing to prevent the leak; Correct within 1 week and provide an update to the Environmental Health Officer.

      • Observation: Ventilation hood panels were observed to have accumulating grease debris.
      • Corrective Action(s): Staff informed they would clean the ventilation hood panels through the newly installed dishwasher this week. Ensure the ventilation hood panels are thoroughly cleaned to maintain in a clean condition; Correct within 1 week.

      • Observation: A dead mouse was observed in a snap trap next to the upright double-door cooler across from the handsink. A small amount of rodent droppings were present on the floor in the designated dry storage area below the shelving unit.
      • Corrective Action(s): Remove the dead mouse and have a pest control service conducted within a week. Clean and sanitize the affected areas to remove the rodent droppings; Correct today. Monitor for signs of recent pest activity and continue with pest control measures: keeping the front and back doors shut between use, sealing any potential entry points, regular cleaning, pest control program, and minimizing any breeding grounds or harbourage areas for rodents.

      • Observation: High temperature dishwasher was not in good working order. Staff were unable to run a cycle upon selecting the "start" button.
      • Corrective Action(s): Repair or re-service the high temperature dishwasher to ensure it is in good working order to effectively wash and sanitize preparation utensils/food contact surfaces; Correct by February 23, 2022. In order to meet the sanitizing standard, high temperature dishwasher final rinse temperature must be at least 71 degrees C at the plate level. If you are replacing the dishwasher, ensure to submit a specification sheet of the new dishwasher for review and health approval prior to making any changes.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Raw meat (inside covered containers and bags) was stored on higher shelving units than potential ready to eat food (e.g. prepackaged salad mixes, green onions, milk jug, and water bottles).
      • Corrective Action(s): Staff re-organized refrigerated storage areas to move the raw meat on the lowest shelving units and move the ready-to-eat food/beverages on higher shelving units. Ensure raw meat is stored on the lowest shelving unit and ready-to-eat food products are stored on higher shelving units to protect the ready-to-eat food from any potential contamination. Alternatively, you may store raw meat separately from ready-to-eat food by storing it in a separate designated refrigeration unit.

      • Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the above-noted affected areas to remove the rodent droppings; Correct today. Facility has a pest control program in place via All Catch Pest Control Ltd. with most recent service date being August 23, 2022. Continue monitoring for signs of pest activity and your pest control program measures (pest control program to re-service the traps, sealing any potential entry points, regular cleaning, regular removal of garbage, and keeping doors shut between use).

      • Corrective Action(s): Staff removed the garbage bags, placed the green onions to be washed again, and moved the bag of flour into a sealed container. Discontinue practice of using garbage bags to cover food since they be treated with pesticides or odour-suppressing chemicals.

      • Observation: A small amount of rodent droppings were present in the following areas:
      • -Corner near the stairway leading to the backdoor
      • -Lower shelving unit near the back door
      • Corrective Action(s): Clean and disinfect the above-noted areas to remove rodent droppings. Continue with regular cleaning, regular removal of garbage, keeping front and back doors shut between use, covering food, storing food equipment off the floor, and the pest control program. Pest control report for service provided on Feb 22, 2022 by All Catch Pest Control was available on-site.

      • Corrective Action(s): Remove the cardboard liners. If you would like to continue using liners, obtain shelving liners that are made of durable, washable, smooth, and impermeable to moisture materials. Correct by March 6, 2022.
