      • In the 3-5 years room the washroom sink counter requires caulking along the gap between the counter and the backsplash - existing caulking is cracked/missing.

    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • Bottles were being prepared in the same area/sink that is used for diapering hand washing. Discussed issue with the caregivers in this room and they agreed that bottles will be prepared in the facility kitchen. If this is not possible, then another option would be for all formula to be prepared at home by parents and labeled for each child.
    • 11. Are parent provided foods being properly handled and stored to ensure the safety of clients in this social care facility?
      • The fridge in the 3-5 years room measured 7C and staff in this room had not been keeping a temperature log to track the temperature for quite some time. Discussed the issue with the staff in the room and the facility manager, staff agreed to resume keeping a fridge temperature log and the manager adjusted the temperature setting of the fridge. When checked later in the inspection the fridge temperature measured 3C.

      • The washroom step stool in the 3-5 years room requires refinishing to be smooth and easily cleanable. Rough, chipped paint exposing raw wood.
