    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed the following:
      • 1. Observed a sanitizer spray bottle measuring significantly greater than 200ppm chlorine - test strip observed to be bleaching out.
      • 2. Observed single use cups (no handles) stored inside dry spice containers.
      • Health Rationale:
      • 1. Chlorine higher than 200ppm increases the risk of potential chemcial contamination of food, leading to potential injury or illness.
      • 2. Improperly stored scoops increase the risk of cross-contaminaiton as staff reach in the container. This may lead to potential foodborne illness.
      • Corrective Actions:
      • Operator replaced sanitizer solution (half a cup of bleach per litre of water) verified at 200ppm chlorine at the time of inspection.
      • Staff removed scoops and replaced with clean scoops with handles at the time of inspection.
