      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand washing station located near prep area and walk-in freezer had no liquid soap and no paper towels.
      • Hand washing station located closest to point of sale had no paper towels.
      • Corrective Action(s): Liquid soap and paper towels supplied. Ensure all hand washing stations are accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels at all times to facilitate proper hand washing.

    • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: - Both the soap and paper towel dispenser for the back area hand sink (closest to walk-in freezer and back prep area) are not in good working order.
      • - The metal wire fan cover inside the proofer is severely rusted.
      • Corrective Action(s): - Liquid soap was placed near the hand sink (outside of the dispenser) so that it is available in the interim until the dispenser is working. Paper towels available. Ensure both the liquid soap and paper towel dispensers are in good working order to help ensure hand sinks are adequately stocked. Date to be corrected by: May 14, 2025.
      • - Replace metal wire fan cover as rust/debris may potentially contaminate food. In the interim, ensure a cover/barrier is in place between the cover and the food (e.g. an extra baking sheet). Date to be corrected by: May 21, 2025.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Front designated hand washing sinks (side-by-side) were obstructed at the time of inspection by bowls and chemical spray bottles. A cart was stored in front of the back area hand washing sink.
      • Corrective Action(s): Items removed. Ensure all hand washing stations remain accessible at all times to facilitate proper hand washing.

    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Rodent observed in one trap located near POS area.
      • Few rodent droppings observed in icing storage area near walk in cooler.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure pest control technician resets trap. Continue to identify potential holes/entry points, seal them, clean and sanitize, and monitor for new activity. Date to be corrected by: June 7, 2024.
      • Icing storage buckets (sealed) were removed at time of inspection, to be properly cleaned and sanitized. Ensure affected areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand washing station located closest to bakery service area obstructed by container covering sink basin and item (display stand) blocking access to sink. In addition, back area hand sink had no paper towels.
      • Corrective Action(s): Obstructing items removed. Paper towels supplied. Ensure all hand washing stations remain accessible at all times during operations, and are always supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels via wall-mounted dispensers.

      • Observation: Small amount of liquid observed on floor under right compartment of three-compartment sink. Note: No leaks observed at time of inspection when sink in use.
      • Corrective Action(s): Remove pooling liquid. Ensure area is kept free of pooling liquid as this is a potential pest attractant. Date to be corrected by: Today.
      • Note: Floor may potentially need resurfacing in this area to allow proper slope for drainage into nearby floor drain.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Common handwashing station near three compartment sink was blocked with a bucket in the basin and bottles of chemicals left in front. There were laundry baskets stored in front of handsink that made the sink inaccessible for handwashing
      • Corrective Action(s): Remove all items from the handsink and from the front. Ensure that the access is not blocked and that handwashing station is easily accessible by staff

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Coffee machine attachments are not sanitized after each use.
      • Corrective Action(s): Coffee attachments must be disinfected after each use to prevent potential cross contamination.

      • Observation: Large number of fruit flies were found under the 3-comapartment sink.
      • Corrective Action(s): Clean pooling water under the sink and clean and sanitize all surface under the sink to remove and debris and fly eggs. Maintain all areas in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.

      • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: 3-compartment sink had pooling water - may indicate a leaking pipe.
      • Corrective Action(s): Service sink and ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Wiping cloth used for frothing attachment had less than 200ppm Quats sanitizing solution.
      • Corrective Action(s): Attachment must be disinfected with 200ppm Quats sanitizer after each use. Either cloth must be soaked in a sanitizer solution, or attachment is to be sprayed down after each use.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Garlic spread labelled "Keep Refrigerated" was stored on a shelf at room temperature.
      • Corrective Action(s): All foods labelled "Keep Refrigerated" must be stored at or below 4C to prevent the growth of pathogens and or the formation of toxins. Garlic spread was moved into the cooler at the time of inspection.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Coffee milk frother is not disinfected after each use.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure coffee frother is disinfected with a food grade sanitizer after each customer. Quats sanitizing solution to wipe down attachment after each use.

    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Six dead rodents were found on sticky traps by the coffee area. Facility is serviced weekly by professional pest control services. Did not observe pests in the bakery area. Front door/gate to the facility is left open where the rodents were found.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure facility is kept free of pests. To prevent pest infestation, ensure facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, keep foods off the floor and covered, remove garbage on a daily basis, keep doors closed, etc. Follow recommendations from pest control services.
