    • 06. Are appropriate food handling practices and plans in place to ensure that food is handled in a manner that makes it safe to eat?
      • 2026-05-04: Repackaged cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, & cloves were observed display for retail on the top shelf near the back of the store. CDI: Observed staff discard all product into a garbage bag. Education provided again regarding requirements to repackaged foods as repeat violation. 2025-08-28Repackaged peanuts, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, & cloves were on display for retail. CDI: product seized & discarded. Education provided regarding requirements to repackaged foods. _______________________2025-01-21-Items such as peanuts, cinnamon and cardamom were being portioned and repackaged into smaller containers. This is not allowed due to the lack of a handwash sink outside of a washroom (proper handwashing cannot be conducted). All of the repackaged items are to be discarded immediately.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • 2026-05-04 - Violation was still outstanding and no pest control report had been completed. 2025-08-28The facility had set mouse traps and appeared to be monitoring for activity; however, written pest control records were not being maintained. __________________2025-01-21-There was a gap between the 2 front doors. This will allow for mice to enter the facility. You must have this gap sealed so when the doors are fully closed, no light can be seen shining in.-You must have a pest control plan in place.       • 2026-05-04: Violation was still outstanding and both open foods (donuts and spices) were observed onsite. Education provided again regarding permit restrictions. Open foods, such as donuts were being served, and spices were being re-packaged. This permit does not allow for re-packaging food items or serving open foods.

      • 2025-08-29Facility was dispensing donuts obtained from an unapproved source.CDI: donuts moved to the back area - discussed requirement to obtain foods from approved sources. ___________________2025-01-21-Boxes of Ensure supplement drinks were observed and it was indicated by the Owner that these were accepted from people off the street. All of the Ensure supplement drinks must be discarded immediately. You are not allowed to obtain items from people off the street or from any other sources that are not approved. Foods items and beverages must be obtained from approved/government inspected sources. You must be keep copies of invoices/receipts for all of the foods you obtain, as we will ask for these during future inspections to verify where your foods are from. If these cannot be shown to us, we will look at discarding your foods or taking enforcement action.

      • -Your facility has not been approved for a Food Handling Permit and is not allowed to open until approval is granted by our office. You will be e-mailed a Food Handling Permit Application form. Complete and submit this form to our office immediately after receiving it. We will then schedule another inspection with you when you are ready, to determine if you meet the requirements to open.
