    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • The chlorine sanitizer pail in the front counter area originally measured 0ppm when tested. Informed staff who refilled and remade a fresh sanitizer solution. Retested and concentration was acceptable (100ppm). Please ensure all sanitizer solutions are monitored and routinely inspected to ensure concentrations are acceptable.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • No chlorine test strips were available onsite. Please ensure valid test strips are available.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • A piece of food equipment was observed being stored on top of the handwashing basin in the front area. Equipment was removed. Please ensure the handwashing basin is kept accessible at all times for handwashing purposes only.

      • Wiping cloths are not kept in sanitizing solution. Wiping cloths are to be kept in sanitizing solution after use to prevent bacterial growth and then cross contamination.
    • 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • The second compartment had food residue and was not in sanitary condition.For two compartment sink ensure that the first compartment is used for washing and then rinsing. The second compartment is used for sanitizing.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Pest control records are kept on computer but was last done in Jan 2025.Ensure the pest control records are done on a monthly basis.

      • Spray bottles containing sanitizer were not labelled to indicate contents. ACTION REQUIRED: ensure all chemical bottles are labelled.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Staff washroom door that opens into the food storage area was not equipped with a self-closing mechanism. ACTION REQUIRED: Install a self-closing mechanism on the staff washroom door.

      • Poor organization in the kitchen:-Paint supplies were stored next to the oven-Equipment was disorganized leaving minimal food processing space (facility is a small space)ACTION REQUIRED: conduct a deep, thorough clean that includes organizing equipment & stock. Remove any items that are not needed.
