Inspection summary

India Garden Dining & Banquet Facilities has been inspected 6 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since June 3, 2024. The most recent inspection, on May 7, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.

2 of 6 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 2 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct food-handling risks.

The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.

Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on May 7, 2026. For example: Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Equipment has to be built from cleanable materials, kept in good repair and stored properly. These findings are mostly about upkeep, like a cracked shelf, a worn gasket or utensils stored the wrong way. They are generally lower risk but show how well the kitchen is maintained.

Recorded once on March 13, 2025. For example: Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?

  • Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk

Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.

Recorded once on June 3, 2024. For example: Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?

6 inspections

  1. Monitoring Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Yes (corrected during inspection) - there were three dry food storage containers without adequate covers/lids (i.e. food protection) located in the dry food storage room, at rear of main kitchen area. Staff were advised to ensure all food product containers are covered when not in use. Note that this is a repeat violation and food safety practises are to be reviewed with all staff in the food premises, to ensure consistency.
  2. Monitoring Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Yes (corrected during inspection) - operator and staff are to ensure all dry food storage containers are provided with adequate covers/lids when not in use. In the dry food storage room, there was one open dry food storage container with no lid/cover. This was corrected at time of inspection.
  3. Demand Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Yes (corrected during inspection) - note that some of the utensils/scoops used for dry food storage were food grade disposable items (with no 'handle') and not meant for repeated washings. The operator is to ensure that all scoops/utensils used for dry food storage products are of commercial food grade plastic or stainless steel made for repeated washings and durability. This was corrected a time of inspection.
  4. Demand Inspection

    0 infractions

  5. Risk Management Inspection
