    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -Push pins were being used in the Pre-school Room accessible to children. Please remove all push pins and staples and switch to alternatives such as: tape, sticky tac, Velcro etc. If staples are to be used they should be covered with tape.-Cubbies in the Pre-school Room were not secured to the wall. Please ensure they are secured to the wall.- There were chemicals stored accessible to children in the accessible washroom. Please keep the door locked or move chemicals out of children’s reach.-There was a tent set-up in the Pre-school Room with rope. Please ensure the rope is secured above children’s reach.

      • - The glitter in the Toddler Room was not labelled as non-toxic. It was removed at the time of inspection.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • - The kitchen play set in the Pre-school room was visibly unclean. Please clean.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • -The water temperature in the Baby Room was measured at 53C; which is too hot. Please ensure the water temperature is at 49C or less.
    • 23. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Critical)?
      • -Cribs in the Baby Room had two mattresses, which is not safe, ensure there is only one mattress in cribs.- The paint on the white crib in the Baby Room was chipping. Please ensure surface is smooth, easy to clean and impervious to moisture. Bite covers are strongly recommended to prevent further chipping.

      • - Sleeping mats in the Baby Room were stored with sheets touching. Please store with alternating openings on garbage bags to prevent bedding from touching.
    • 28. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Critical)?
      • - There was a potty seat being stored on the floor in the OSC washroom. Please ensure there is a designated storage space for the seat.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • -The hand sanitizer in the Toddler and Pre-school Rooms was expired. Please remove/replace.

      • The diaper station in the toddler room is in disrepair, the edges of the counter are held together with duct-tape, making them difficult to properly clean and disinfect. Please have this area repaired professionally.

      • December 2, 20221. Shelves in OSC room 1 and the baby room were not securely fastened to the wall. Please ensure all shelving taller than 4feet are securely fastened to the walls.

      • -Some of the colourful foam shape toys in the Toddler Room had bites missing; this is a choking hazard. Please remove all shapes with missing pieces.

      • -Washroom countertops were in poor condition. Please ensure that caulking along the back of sinks is in good condition and edging of countertops are repaired.

      • -The first aid kits for this social care facility were not being properly managed; they were not properly supplied. Please ensure first aid kits are updated.

      • -Surfaces and equipment in this social care facility are not being cleaned and disinfected properly and/or at suitable intervals:*The pink table and chairs in the smaller Pre-school room were visibly stained. Please clean and/or remove.*The lego table in the OSC Room was visibly dirty. Please clean.- The instructions for cleaning toys say to “wipe” them. Please ensure that any toys that can be soaked in a sanitizer solution are.
