- When asked, the facility operator demonstrated and described how combs, brushes, and razors are cleaned and disinfected: 1. barbacide disinfectant concentration is made without proper measurements 2. brushes are dipped into barbacide for a quick second not following the manufacturing instructions of a 10 minute contact time3. clipperside when applied on razors are immediately blown dry using pressurized air and not following the manufacturing instructions of keeping the equipment wet with clipperside for 10 minutesFacility operator was instructed to follow the manufacturing instructions and directions of use for the disinfectants. Ensure that all tools and equipment are adequately cleaned and disinfected. It is recommended to alternate the use of tools to ensure the disinfectant contact time is met.

- Three sharps container storing used razor blades were observed to be over-filled. Facility operator was educated that sharps containers have a certain fill to line and should not be over-filled to protect clients and staff from exposure. Discard the three over-filled sharps container and obtain new ones for use.

- The wax warmer equipment was observed to be covered in hair debris, on the lid, sides, and the opening edge of the wax pot, and an excessive amount of wax build-up on the equipment.Facility operator was instructed to clean the wax warmer. Ensure that all equipment is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner to prevent the environmental growth conditions for pathogenic bacteria. It is recommended that there be a paper-like material placed on the edges of the wax warmer for easier cleaning.
