      • Facility-specific written procedures for client care are not available. Written procedures for client care are required to ensure consistency among employees. UPDATE Jan 6/2024: Inspector did not observe written procedures on site. Template for establishing written procedures for "client care in the event of an accidental skin cut or puncture" during service provision, was sent to the operator via email.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The concentration of the high-level disinfectant (HLD) PREempt CS20 was not verified daily before reuse. Records for HLD use and testing were not available.Establish a log for recording the reuse of the high-level disinfectant, including the pass/fail verification of the measured HLD concentration using the appropriate test strips.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Non-critical equipment such as hair combs were not adequately cleaned prior to immersion in the Barbicide disinfectant solution. Reprocessing of reusable equipment must include thoroughly cleaning the equipment surface to remove visible debris prior to disinfection. Then rinsing the equipment to remove disinfectant residues after immersion and dry before use.Train staff to follow the manufacturer's instruction for use for all disinfectants used in the facility.

      • Containers of cosmetic products including acetone, foot scrub, and powder were stored uncovered in the pedicure room. Cover all cosmetic products when not in use, to prevent contamination.

      • Buildup of nail dust on nail station table surfaces and cosmetic product bottles.Hair debris accumulated in the drawers and storage containers at several hair stylist stations. - Ensure that all work surfaces are clean and sanitary.
