    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Weather stripping at the base of the back exterior door has gaps that can allow pest entry. Repair or replace the weather stripping to provide a good seal and prevent pest entry.
    • 18. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Some pre-packaged food items are stored on the floor in the front sales area. All food items must be stored at least 6 inches off the floor to facilitate cleaning and inspection for pest activity. Ensure that this is addressed by the deadline provided. Shelving has been provided for all food items in the storage area.
    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
      • Proof of a valid food safety certificate holder was not available on site at the time of inspection. At least 1 person in care and control of the facility must be trained in an approved food safety course. Evidence of this training must be available for inspection.Provide EPH with a copy of the Food Safety Certificate by the deadline.

      • Facility found operating without a Food Handling Permit. A Food handling Permit is required. Ensure that the facility operates with a valid Food Handling Permit at all times.
    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
