      • Observation: 1) Hot water knob on hand-sink is stripped and non-operational.
      • 2) Low-temp dishwasher (chlorine sanitizer) is non-operational.
      • Corrective Action(s): 1) Operator indicates that they're using the cold water tap for hand-washing until repairs have been completed.
      • *Ensure hand-sink is repaired and hot water is restored within 7 days. Adjacent 2-compartment sink can be used for hand-washing on a temporary basis until hot water is restored to the hand-sink.
      • 2) Operator indicates that they're using single-use take-out containers for food service.
      • *Ensure dishwasher is repaired and restored to operation within 7 days. Manually wash and sanitize all reusable cookware and kitchen utensils using the 2-compartment sink manual warewashing method until repairs completed
      • *2-compartment sink manual warewashing reference sign provided to operator at time of inspection.

      • Observation:
      • Exhaust canopy filters have accumulated grease and dust. This will attract pests, and/or it could fall into food as it is being grilled. Operator stated that a professional company is scheduled to clean the exhaust canopy next week.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Clean the exhaust filters every week to remove the grease and dust.

      • Observation:
      • Accumulation of food and grease found on exhaust filters, the walls behind and below the bbq, and the equipment and legs of equipment around the bbq. This will attract pests.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Scrub these areas with hot water, soap and bleach to remove the food and grease. Ensure these areas are cleaned every night before leaving the restaurant.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION):
      • There is food stains and accumulated food debris and grease in areas of the premises. This will attract pests. The areas of concern are:
      • - Walls behind and beneath food preparation tables, grill area, and prep sinks.
      • - Floors under the grill area, gas burner, and equipment.
      • - Prep table and storage rack legs, shelves and surfaces.
      • - Exhaust canopy filters and canopy.
      • - The walls and shelves inside the domestic fridge that stores the skewers.
      • Corrective Action(s):
      • Scrub the mentioned areas with hot water, soap and bleach to remove the grease and food debris. Ensure this is completed on a daily basis to prevent the build up of grease and food debris. During the inspection, staff and owner started cleaning the areas.

      • Observation:
      • The owner does not possess a valid FoodSafe level 1 certificate. The owner requires to have a valid certificate, so they are able to instruct staff on the safe processing of foods.

      • Successfully complete the FoodSafe Level 1 refresher course and obtain a valid certificate. Go to www.foodsafe.ca to register.
