      • A bleach/chlorine spray bottle was observed without a label in the basement room. Ensure all chemicals are labeled. The operator labeled the indicated bottle during the inspection.

      • Handrail at top of stairs was broken at bracket.Repair handrail to be in good repair.

      • Ensure door remains locked and not accessible to children. Dec 1: Door was locked.A written procedure for laundry is required to ensure dirty to clean procedures are being followed with proper sanitation steps.OUTSTANDING

      • Light at bottom of basement stairs was not illuminating. Replace light to be fully operational and to provide adequate light to see hazards and prevent injury

      • Diapering mat: 2 stains were noted on the diapering mat.Ensure the mat is in clean, sanitary condition and good repair.

      • Preschool (Main floor) bathroom: Bleach disinfectant was at 0 ppm.New bleach solution was prepared while onsite.Ensure that bleach solution is at 100 ppm.

      • Basement bathroom (girls):1. Floor tile was cracked by sink. The floor tile had material that had built up and was not easy to clean.2. Behind the toilet there was evidence of mould and water damage. Investigate the water damage, repair. Remove the mould by means of cleaning or cutting the area and replace to be in good condition, easy to clean.Preschool bathroom: 3. Baseboards were peeling and paint was peeling on wallRepair to be in good condition, easy to clean and impervious to moisture.Exit to exterior (kinder room): 4. Wall on the stairs was patched but not finished. Ensure wall is finished to be in good repair, easy to clean.

      • Out of school care room: Hand sink in room - no paper towels were available.Paper towels were replaced in dispenser at time of inspection.

      • Soap at the hand sinks was watered down. Ensure soap is readily available and is not watered down.

      • Preschool washroom: Garbage bag was not available in garbage bin. Garbage was noted in bin. Diaper genie also available.Garbage bag was put in the garbage bin. Ensure that the garbage bins are lined and garbage is managed for odor control.At end of inspection, an odor was noted from the bathroom after diaper changing. Additional measures may be required for proper disposal and odor control.

      • Laundry room door was not locked and accessible to children. A written procedure for laundry is required to ensure dirty to clean procedures are being followed with proper sanitation steps.

      • Preschool room: Broken toy was observed on the playhouse. Toy was removed at time of inspection. Ensure all toys and equipment are checked daily to ensure toys are in good repair, and remove as needed.

      • Storage of items in the staff washroom was not stored in a manner to reduce cross contamination. Ensure storage of items are stored in a manner that reduces cross contamination (containers that can be cleaned and covered).

      • Rear exterior door (to outdoor play area): Gap noted at the bottom of the door that could allow for pest entry. Repair or replace the door sweep to ensure no gaps or entry points for pests.

      • Dirty mop water and mop was noted stored in staff washroom.Ensure that water is changed regularly and when not in use, water is removed and mop stored outside the water.

      • OSC: Bathrooms (blue and red) - no soap or paper towel was available at time of inspection.Owner replaced soap and paper towel at time of inspection.

      • The emergency exit door from the kinder room to the rear outdoor area was blocked.The owner was able to remove boxes and have the door be accessible while on site.

      • Preschool bathroom: Toilet paper dispenser was broken. Please ensure toilet paper is in an acceptable dispenser for children and staff to access and use.
