      • In the toddler room, a sanitizer spray bottle with bleach/chlorine was observed without a label to identify the contents. Ensure all chemicals are labeled. The operator labeled the indicated spray bottle during the inspection.

      • Gate separating preschool room from food preparation space had a screw sticking up that could cause a protrusion hazard for children.Repair or replace the screw to ensure the gate is secure and in good repair.

      • The temperature of the hot water at the handwashing sink in the toddler room was measured at 55.4 degrees Celsius with a probe thermometer. Please reduce the hot water temperature at the indicated handwashing sink. The recommended maximum hot water temperature is 49 degrees Celsius.

      • Discussed with staff in detail handwashing procedures. Handwashing was not observed for appropriate length of time after cleaning up spit up off floor.

      • The diapering change table in the toddler room had a piece that was sticking out that was part of the stability to the wall.Please repair the diapering change table to be in good repair. Until this is repaired, diapering should be done in infant room or on the floor.

      • *Knives were noted in kitchen sink which children have access to (from food preparation at lunch).Please ensure that all knives are kept out of reach of children at all times.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Observed diaper change occurring at time of inspection.Staff changed gloves but did not wash hands between children.Discussed with staff and owner the requirement to hand wash between each diaper wash (even if gloves are worn, it is important to wash hands with running water and soap each time). Please also ensure if children are able to wash hands at the sink, that they should be washing hands with running water and soap after diapering, at meal times and as needed.
