- 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Evidence of pest activity such as rodent droppings were found at the bottom floor corners of the drive thru area. Kitchen is clean and well maintained. (Public Health Significance) Rodents and other pests may cross contaminate foods and surfaces with their feces and urine. Pest control is currently in place with Rentokil & Orkin. These companies are setting up traps, monitoring activity, and providing recommendations. A&W staff are cleaning kitchen daily to ensure food debris is not available for pests.
- Corrective Action: Do not let rodent dropping accumulate. Increase cleaning & sanitizing frequency of the drive thru area. A&W has a plan to remove equipment and seal entry ways to help prevent reoccurring issues. Continue with pest control and continue to follow recommendations from the pest control companies.
- 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: General cleaning is required in the back dishwashing area including the fountain drink lines and hard to reach spots. One of the water lines has a leak that is being contained by a metal bucket.
- Corrective Action: Please conduct general cleaning as soon as possible. For the areas & equipment that cannot be accessed (managed by the fountain drink company), please have them clean and repair as soon as possible.

- Observation: Observed drink build-up under the drink machine and debris underneath equipments in the kitchen. Facilitate requires regular cleaning and sanitizing. (Public Health significance) unsanitary conditions encourages the breeding and harbor of pests that would cause contamination of food leading to foodborne illnesses.
- Corrective Action: Ensure the facility is cleaned regulary, (under the equipments, hard to get to areas) and operator is to maintaining cleaning logs.
