- Observation: Scoop was stored inside a bag of flour on the ground. Scoop handles should not touch food products and all food items should be stored 15 cm off the ground. These practices limits risk of contamination and attracting pest. Contamination of food can increase the risk of foodborne illness.
- Corrective Action: Operator to store food items 15cm off the floor and ensure scoop handles are not touching food items.
- 302 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) No sanitizer bucket or spray bottle was set up to clean food contact surfaces. Regular sanitation of food contact surfaces is required to destroy microbial contamination on food contact surfaces to limit risk of foodborne illnesses.
- Corrective Action: Operator set up a chlorine sanitizer bucket with cloth that was able to reach 100 ppm. Please store your cloth inside the bucket and ensure sanitizer can maintain 100ppm.
- 312 - Items not required for food premises operation being stored on the premises [s. 18]
- Observation: Personal items and food items are stored on the food handling table. Personal items and food should be stored away from the food handling area to limit risk of contamination.

- 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) No sanitizer available for dishwashing. No active sanitizer detected in sanitizer spray bottles. (Public Health Significance) Sanitizer solution should be available in the food premises to ensure adequate dishwashing and sanitizing. Sanitizing solutions must be strong enough to destroy bacteria on surfaces to prevent the contamination of food on contact with the improperly cleaned surface.
- Corrective Action: The operator immediately bought bleach and prepared a solution which was measured to be at 100 ppm. Sanitizer spray bottle was also filled with the freshly prepared solution.
- 401 - Critical Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Handwashing station is being used a part of dishwashing to store dirty dishes and utensils. Public health significance - Handwashing sink should only be used for washing hands and should be fully equipped with hand soap, hot and cold running water and paper towel. This is to ensure proper use of handwashing station and to prevent cross-contamination from dirty and used dishes which further helps to prevent spread of various foodborne illnesses.
- Corrective Action: Operator immediately moved the dishes from the handwashing sink to the dishwashing sink. Operator to ensure that the handwashing sink is only used for the purpose of handwashing.
