      • Hot water tap in the classroom reached 58.2 degrees Celsius which exceeds 54 degrees Celsius (recommended 49 degrees Celsius for social care facilities). As this is a proactive inspection, the Oyen Daycare manager will request maintenance to turn off the hot water tap when they move into the classroom, leaving just the cold water tap available. Hallway bathrooms can be used for handwashing.

      • Single sink is being used for three purposes: diaper change handwashing, toy washing, and dish washing. Food provided is packed lunches by parents but occasionally, food is dished out and cutlery is provided. This is considered food handling. There is a decontamination procedure in place between hand sink use and toy washing. Discussed with daycare manager to use the school NSF certified dishwasher or a two-compartment kitchen sink for washing food utensils to keep activities separated and to apply for a food handling permit.
