      • No paper towels were available at the toddler washroom handwashing station. Hand drying with single-use paper towels is necessary to ensure proper hand hygiene. - The handwashing station was stocked with paper towels during the inspection.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • The first aid kit was not properly stocked with supplies such as blankets, ointments & gels. First aid kits must be fully stocked and ready for use at all times to respond to emergencies. - Conduct regular checks to ensure contents are complete.
    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • Hair and dirt were observed under the diapering station in infants room. Diapering areas must be kept clean to prevent contamination and reduce the risk of illness. Area was cleaned during inspection. - Ensure diapering stations, including under and around them, are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Dirt and debris were observed beside the refrigerator in toddlers' room. All areas of the facility must be kept clean. Area was cleaned during inspection.- Ensure areas beside and behind refrigerator are cleaned regularly and included in cleaning schedules.

      • The sunroom has not been constructed to provide adequate weatherproofing. Sheets of drywall have been affixed to a pre-existing exterior deck, with windows and a ceiling enclosing the space.The walls and window frames exhibit signs of water damage, including visible staining on the drywall and peeling paint on the window frames.All water-damaged drywall and building materials must be removed. If the space is to be used as an enclosed sunroom, the walls, ceilings, and floors must be constructed to withstand weather conditions and provide proper protection. Additionally, the deck must comply with City of Calgary Safety Codes.

      • Some paints in the toddler room were labelled to be not used by 0-3 years old. Violation corrected onsite. These paints were removed from the classroom.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The vent wells of the classrooms were dirty. Please clean thoroughly. 2. One of the cabinet drawers in the baby room is in disrepair. Please repair.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • - Wet cleaning cloth was placed on the counter to air dry in the toddler room. Wet cleaning cloth can harbor bacteria when stored in room temperature. Please ensure the cleaning cloth are only used once and a fresh cloth is used every time to clean.Violation corrected onsite. Used cleaning cloth was placed in a dirty cloth basket.
