      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Sanitizing solution was not present in the food preparation station in the basement. Food contact surfaces cannot be cleaned and sanitized thorougly to reduce the number of bacteria on equipment to safe levels.
      • Corrective Action(s): Prepare diluted bleach solution (0.5 tsp bleach to 1 L water) in a spray bottle or container labelled bleach. The operator has corrected this violation.

      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. Boxes of tofu were stored on the floor inside the walk-in cooler
      • 2. Container containing vegetables were placed on top of a garbage can
      • Corrective Action(s): 1. Ensure all food products are placed at least 6 inches off the floor to protect them from contamination and to allow for visual inspection of pest activity. Operator placed boxes of tofu off the floor.
      • 2. Remove the container of vegetables on top of the garbage can. The operator removed the container from the garbage can, and cleaned and sanitized it

      • Observation: Mouse droppings were observed at the basement in the following areas:
      • - On the floor behind the chest freezer next to the electrical panel
      • - On the floor beside the hot water tank
      • - On the floor along the walls at the dry storage room
      • Corrective Action(s): Spray the mouse droppings with bleach solution. Remove and dispose of the mouse droppings while wearing gloves. Do NOT vacumn the mouse droppings. Clean and disinfect the floors of the basement using bleach solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water). Placing red pepper flakes on the floors will not deter mice from entering the basement. Connect with the landlord to request pest control reports and call the pest control company to do do a full inspection of the facility and identify other harbourage areas. Submit copy of pest control reports to Abbotsford Health Protection office for review ([email protected])
