      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No paper towels available at the hand sink or in the bar area.
      • Corrective Action(s): Paper towels provided. Ensure paper towels are always available to facilitate proper hand washing.
      • Violation Score: 5
    • 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: A large cutout and another hole were observed in the ceiling located above the hot water tank in the back room. Pipes lead from these areas onto the hot water tank, and rodent droppings were observed here.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure all holes/gaps that may potentially permit pest entry are effectively sealed by June 23, 2025. Ensure areas affected by droppings are also cleaned and sanitized.
      • Violation Score: 3
  2. Routine Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One bottle labeled sanitizer contained what appeared to be undiluted quats sanitizer concentrate. Sanitizer was tested at well over 200 ppm quats.
      • Corrective Action(s): Bottle removed from bar area. Ensure sanitizer is diluted according to the product label directions as high sanitizer concentrations can leave residues on surfaces that may potentially contaminate food/equipment/utensils.
      • Note: Appropriate quats test strips should be obtained to verify concentrations when preparing sanitizer manually.
      • Violation Score: 3

  5. Routine Inspection

    2 infractions

    • 302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Bar glasswasher rinse residual measured at 10 ppm chlorine.
      • Corrective Action(s): The required concentration for effective sanitizing is 50 ppm chlorine (minimum). Glassware to be washed and sanitized using an alternative means (high temperature dishwasher) before use, in the interim until glasswasher is serviced.
      • Violation Score: 5
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Two out of three bottles of quats sanitizer measured greater than 400 ppm.
      • Corrective Action(s): Management discarded contents of above-noted bottles and replaced with quats sanitizer at 200 ppm. Ensure sanitizer is maintained at concentrations required for safe and effective sanitizing of food contact surfaces. Note: Label states product is intended to be used at 200 ppm quats as a no-rinse sanitizer.
      • Violation Score: 3
      • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: Few rodent droppings observed at bottom of one cabinet. Note: No food/beverage, or food/beverage utensil or equipment storage in this location.
      • Corrective Action(s): Ensure area is properly cleaned and disinfected. Date to be corrected by: Today.
      • Note: Fraser Health bulletin "Mice in Food Establishments" to be provided as a resource. Premises serviced by a pest control technician on a routine basis. Most recent service report to be forwarded to the Environmental Health Officer.
      • Violation Score: 3
      • 308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
      • Observation: Bar glasswasher rinse residual measured at 10 ppm chlorine.
      • Corrective Action(s): The required concentration for effective sanitizing is 50 ppm chlorine (minimum). Service technician contacted during inspection. Ensure bar glasswasher is in good working order and capable of sanitizing glassware. Do not use until re-insepcted by the district Environmental Health Officer. Date to be corrected by: May 30, 2023.
