Askew's Foods - Uptown

It was discouraging when I was searching for BC or at least Canadian grown apples last week in the Salmon Arm location. Yes there was one variety of apple from a local grower but all of the other 5 or 6 varieties of apples were from the USA. Can you not bring in more BC grown apples? This just leads me to believe that due diligence is not being done for your patrons in sourcing what your customers are looking for.

They never mention expiry date just package date. You bring it and leave it in your fridge for a day or two and it starts to rot. This chicken pack was intended to use the same day and had to trash two pieces out as they were smelly and looked discolored at one end. Same goes with Save On Foods in this town. These grocery shops will make all the customers into vegan if this go unchecked by food safety departments. Askews chicken 👎👎👎

Young girl in the deli went out of her way to make me happy. She quickly made me a delicious pizza. Took 5 minutes. Pls give her a shout out as I’ve never been offered that before. Great service by her. :)

Amazing store with great customer service! If you are ever in search of a cake for any celebration, this is the place! Cake isn’t sugary, isn’t dry! Always amazing! Love this place!

First here Askews but it seems pretty good grocies store,great location,interior is very neat & bright from sunlight,stocks are well organized lots of new different products that i never been seen in wallmart and super store.

best fruit salad at a very good price. I could tell the fruits were actually fresh by the *pop* in each bite. Good variety in fruit

Bought a rotisserie chicken and it was PINK with absolutely no meat on it threw that out and got a save on one worth your $ over there don’t waste it on bones here like what did that chicken even die for

I’ve never cooked a steak before so I was hesitant in the meat section but Lynn (the lady stocking up the shelves) was so incredibly helpful, she was very knowledgeable and I felt like I was talking to a friend. She even went out of her way to go get me a better piece of meat. Was having a rough morning but she made it so much better. Thank you :)

This is my all-time favourite grocery store chain. Owned by a family who also shops at their own stores, sans discount. Best selection around, with many local and organic products. Excellent wellness centre and staff are very knowledgeable and always go above and beyond.

I find the prices fair without gimmicks. I love that they support local farmers and they support the local community and that is one of the reasons I support them. I have been shopping there so long the staff some times feels like family (in the good way).

If local food is important to you, you’ll be happy shopping here. I love both locations, lots of gluten and dairy free options for those who can’t, nice local breads & dairy for those who can. Exceptional experience every time I have been to Askews.

Mostly I love the store. Sorry guys, needed to tell you this though. I bought a gtilled chicken pita wrap from the deli for lunch today and it was so stale that it must have been a week old. It was awful. Threw three quarters of it out. wont buy another one.

This is where I shop 99% of the time. It's a beautiful store and they carry a lot of things that other places don't. Hands down they have the best meat dept, wellness center and produce dept. The staff are cool, very helpful, and they know their stuff. Thanks for all the hard work.

During my road trip from Jasper to Vancouver, I made a stop at Askew's Foods in Salmon Arm to charge my Tesla. The Supercharger station was convenient and well-maintained. Inside, I found a clean store with friendly staff, a great selection of local products, and delicious snacks. A fantastic pit stop for both charging and refreshments!

Very clean grocery store. Excellent quality produce, dairy, bakery Etc. Up town in Salmon Arm, downtown Askews store is also Excellent. I would return for all my grocery needs- o ya great deli and meat department @ both. Enjoy

Very busy but very well sorted local grocery store with lots of fresh baked goods and super fresh fruits and vegetables. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, love to go shopping here even though it’s not the cheapest place to get groceries. But quality has its price.

A good local grocery store in a great uptown location. While it may not be the cheapest shopping option, it does offer a wonderful selection of local products throughout all sections of the store. The staff are always friendly to us.

Prices in this store are much higher than other stores but when they jave a Friday specialty sale, its worth going to. Ots in a good location and especially good if you run short of an ingredient as it is xlose to my boyfriend's residence. Staff are friendly.
