Big Fat Lion Bakeshop

Checked out Big Fat Lion Bakeshop, which makes vegan/gluten free/egg free/dairy free/nut/soy/sesame free goodies. They had muffins, cookies, brownies and a few other treats. No prices in their display. Got a German brownie ($6.00) and lemon lavender cookie ($4.25). Brownie was slightly denser texture with coconut caramel. Cookie was better; good flavour and texture. 3.5 stars.

I absolutely loved my experience at Big Fat Lion Bakeshop! One of the standout things for me is that it's an allergy-free space — it felt amazing to walk in and know I could safely enjoy anything on the menu without worrying, which is such a rare find in most bakeries. The staff and the owner were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The shop itself is spotless and clearly well cared for, which gave me even more confidence in the quality of what they offer. And the treats? Absolutely delicious! Everything was packed with flavor, and there was a great variety to choose from — it was hard to decide because it all looked so good. I would highly recommend Big Fat Lion Bakeshop to anyone, whether you have dietary restrictions or not. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Even though I don’t have any dietary restrictions, I absolutely loved everything I tried. The brownies are definitely my favorite - so rich and fudgy, they’re hard to resist. And the earl grey and pumpkin spice sugar cookies? Absolute perfection! Soft, chewy, and incredibly tasty. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or just a fan of delicious baked goods, Big Fat Lion is a MUST-visit!

I’m so grateful for this amazing vegan bakeshop! I ordered gender reveal cupcakes and Casey was so accommodating, she even had them ready the next day after ordering. The chocolate cupcakes with espresso frosting were moist and delicious and I dropped off some other treats (oat bar, carrot cake and cookies) to my neighbours who were equally impressed. I wish I had known about this gem earlier - I’m definitely a customer for life, food and service is exceptional. It’s nice they have all the allergies covered so absolutely a perfect place to pick up or order a dessert for a dinner party.

Staff here are lovely! My little one is dairy free and we always get treats here for birthday parties or dinner parties. Everyone enjoys the treats and are always surprised that they are free of the major allergens. Give it a try if you love sweets, they are amazing!

A very charming local bakery that caters specifically to people with allergies and those following a vegan diet. Despite this focus, there's absolutely no compromise on quality or taste. wouldn't even notice the treats are gluten-free unless someone told you! In addition to their signature BFL cookies, they also offer oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, incredibly delicious carrot cake, brownies, and more. They even release seasonal items—most recently, I tried their raspberry square, and it was amazing! Super thoughtful and allergy-friendly. Highly recommended!

Got the goods in person the other day. I got the chocolate oat bar, the triple chocolate fudge bar, and Earl grey cookie. Soo so good you wouldn't even know it's vegan or gluten free! Gone are the days of dry mediocre tasting allergy baking. They also have baked goods at numerous coffee shops in town which I love! Date bar is great too. The only thing that I tried that was maybe not the best was a muffin of sorts which was kind of dry and that was at Bright Jenny and I think it was made by big fat lion? But I can't remember as it was a long time ago. But overall a great place to get delicious bakery items 😀

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this bakery. I have celiac disease and I’ve always felt safe there as they are an allergen friendly bakery. Even my friend with a severe peanut allergy was safe to eat there. I’ve been many times and everything I’ve ever gotten is phenomenal. The owner is a legend and so lovely and everyone I’ve ever interacted with there has made me feel right at home and excited to come back. Would highly recommend!

We picked up 6 vanilla cupcakes as part of a gender reveal. While I am vegetarian and not vegan and generally not one to eat cupcakes I found these cupcakes to be amazing! They were so moist and full of flavour and the icing was delicious! I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting a great cupcake!

Very yummy and beautiful desserts; large array of allergy conscious and vegan options so perfect for gift giving. The lavender cupcake is to die for.
