Askew's Foods - Grocery

My review is for Askews Bakery. Both my boyfriend and I have Birthdays in May, at the start of the month we ordered the Odessa cake for his which was super delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it! My birthday was just this past weekend and I ordered the Cream Cheese cake. The cake was amazing, decorated beautifully and tasted so good! Both cakes were fantastic. Totally worth the money if you want something a little nicer than any other grocery store bakery cake. Quality and price is far superior than other places.

Now that Askews runs the bakery they are out of bread. Why? Who knows. It's like the people that run this store don't eat. Well as an update we know have chocolate chip cookies packaged in the oatmeal raisin package and white bread labelled as brown bread. This is how you solve the lack of brown bread. You package your white bread as brown. Super job guys....

love this store. The produce is fresh and the meat excellent. Too bad the bakery isn't run by the same people that used to run it. Baked goods are not as outstanding as they used to be

So proud to have this store in our community. All staff is friendly and helpful. Staff in meat department goes above and beyond to accommodate a customer. Store is always growing with new ideas. Congrats to the Deli for making the Rice Paper Wraps...they were delicious!!

It's unfortunate that I can only give 2 stars because I like supporting local, but the items are waaaay overpriced....especially for the main grocery store in town where many people have no choice but to shop. That, and the staff are seemingly untrained and unknowledgeable about promotions that the store is offering AT THE TILL. The meat is top quality, that's about it.

Meat is always fresh and good sales, bakery is amazing. Unfortunately have had a few encounters with rude or just unhappy cashiers at this location. Have been there less since, or used self checkout!

It's well stocked gerocery store. It's very good size, great staff & well organized layout. No shortage of parking spaces. It also has one of the best bakery I ever been. If you pass by Armstrong, you must stop & try one of delicious baked goods.

This is the best grocery store in the Okanagan Valley that I have seen! Amazing selection, hard to find grocery items, comprehensive deli, bakery, pastries, produce. Everything is cheap or reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back!

Not bad for a small town grocery store. Could use some more options for organic products. The water fill Station out front I don't believe is exactly safe drinking water, has a strong smells like chlorine.

This bakery used to make the best half and half bread. The bread they make now is full of large holes and really crumbly. We go elsewhere now. Prices have also gone through the roof .

Very clean store. It could do with a sign letting you know that the bakery is a separate store inside the store, to avoid confusion at the till. Honestly though there might be one and I just didn't notice. Very fresh produce and some interesting things I hadn't seen in other stores.

I love coming here. Great small town service with fine selection of healthy and homemade foods. If you get hungry while shopping here make sure to go for some excellent gourmet coffee and try the chicken cordon Bleu sandwich at the in-store bakery, to die for!

Great grocery store! Everyone there is friendly and helpful. Besides the staples, they have all kinds of interesting foods to try, considering different diet requirements and they are getting more and more vegetarian and vegan choices in all the time.

Great grocery store. Meat department was wonderful with their own special cuts and sausages. Home made frozen pies are delicious. Wish we had an Askew’s in Kelowna.

I am coming to Askew's Foods - Armstrong for many years and I love this store. The people who work there are AMAZING. They are so friendly, helpful, efficient and nice. In every department there are people who will help you and cashiers will help as well. Thank you ALL!

Ever since ascues bought out the bakery that was located in their store the only thing that has happened is quality has gone way down and prices have increased substantially. I like to support local businesses but at their current pricing there's not a chance

Awesome place for BBQ Chicken & Mojos! Picked up a couple of salads & desserts too! Askew's has a special fruit snack bin just for children at the front of the store for free! Appreciate the store looking after kids with wanting something to eat "now"! Merci ☺

The Chicken and Mojo's from the Deli i bought today were barely crispy, and entirely flavourless. it was a terrible waste of money. Buyer Beware.

Friendly faces, fresh produce and a great selection of meat. Prices can be a little bit higher than other supermarkets. L9ve self checkout!

Good selection of items. Lots of local.produce and products. The bakery is separate, and so you have to pay for the bakery items AT the bakery, which I don't love. But overall, it's a pretty decent store!

Over priced and no support for staff. Crazy busy, 3 tills open, 10 people deep in each line. Managers came to the front to clear an error code on the till in our line, then left. How about opening another one? Or the shelf stocker …

Local great food

One of the few places that still has most items on shelves, is still surviving after the hoarding that has happened recently. If the all shop respectfully then all can make it through this year until travel clears up to the coast again.

Love the bakery here! They have vegan options! They also make cakes preordered, gluten free and vegan. The store also has a good selection of cruelty free products!

Excellent staff good prices

Half the customers not wearing masks management doesn't do anything about it. Meat cutter in meat department not masked. Clearly this store doesn't value customer safety. Will not be back.

Love this little quaint grocery store. It offers a huge selection of foods and the bakery is wonderful. Usually can't by pass this grocery store on my way home and have to buy some kind of food item.

Nice small town grocery store with bakery and deli. Friendly staff. Good place to pick up food for the road if you're just passing through on the highway.

Surprisingly good selection, great butcher department, has stuff I thought I would have to buy at the health food store. Is missing some other stuff I would usually buy, but still overall a good store.

Pricing is a little high but excellent selection for a small town grocery. Very surprised to find a number of our favourite vegetarian products carried here.

Some really great quality food and great service. Prices are high except for the sales that come every so often. The best chicken and wedges in the North Okanagan.
