    What can I say? So excited at the idea of dim sum in Penticton only to be so very disappointed. The bao steamed bun was gummy and definitely not fresh. The sticky rice was overcooked and the Hargow again was gummy and overcooked. Not only was it very overpriced for what you get at a fast food mall food court but it lacked flavour and technique. I guess it is back to Costco as the person to my left commented while he was eating his food. He warned me too late 😞

    I work in the mall, ever since this stall operated, I been getting my lunch very frequently (especially pork belly). All the dim sum too. Reasonable price. Great service.

    I was excited to see a dumpling place like this in Penticton! No photos this time because I got caught up in eating it while it was warm (I got take-out) but I'll try to take some next time. I ordered the Steamer combo to try the shumai, soup dumplings, and shrimp dumplings. Tried each one with and without the glaze sauce provided and they were delicious with and without! I do recommend trying the glaze on the shumai once if you're curious! I went close to closing time so they were out of the pork steamed bao buns, so I tried the veggie flavour instead. The outside texture was perfect! I'm looking forward to trying to meat versions next time too. The steamer combo comes with two deep fried pumpkin rice cakes, which really surprised me! The outside is perfect and slightly crispy with all the squishy give that you'd hope for from a rice cake stuffed with pumpkin. The insides also contain red bean paste which I tend not to be a fan of, but the sweetness and crispiness are so nicely balanced with the soft pumpkin insides that the usual textural (grainy bean) and flavour (TOO sweet) problems that I have with red bean weren't a problem. I'll definitely be getting them again! Finally, I tried the peach tea with popping boba. The peach flavour is not light, it's strong and has little bits of real peach in the cup! Absolutely lovely refreshing flavour. The staff that handled my order were polite and packed everything up to go real nicely. Thank you for the lovely meal!

    H and L Dumpling House brings a light to the Penticton Food Court that was sorely missed. Their kind service and delicious food are great additions to the food court and I love going there whenever I'm at the mall! I've had their soup dumplings which are absolutely delicious! As well as their Bao and their pork belly noodles! I've been telling everyone I know about this dumpling house because I want them to be at the mall forever! Definitely check it out if you haven't already!
